In 2020, the Democrats took the White House, House of Representatives and split the Senate 50-50 with Republicans. This places a great amount of pressure on the GOP to not only defend against Democrats and Progressives, but also increase their seats in the upcoming midterm election.
However, after the Trump presidency, the Republican party does not consist of the same demographic the party had 6-years ago, which raise the following questions, what is the future of the Republican party? Will Trump be a main focal point in the midterms? Can the Republican Party regain power? Or will they be replaced by other political bodies?
The races that I will be focusing on will be the following due to their small margin wins or open seat availability…
| Alabama | Open Seat | |
| Arizona | Mark Kelly (D) | 2.4% |
| Colorado | Michael Bennet (D) | 5.7% |
| Missouri | Open Seat | |
| Nevada | Catherine Cortez (D) | 2.4% |
| New Hampshire | Maggie Hassan (D) | 0.1% |
| North Carolina | Open Seat | |
| Ohio | Open Seat | |
| Pennsylvania | Open Seat | |
| Wisconsin | Ron Johnson (R) | 3.4% |
